While the HGTV Dream Home 2011 tours may seem like a dream from the distant past here at MMWA, the house continues to attract attention up at Spruce Peak. The new owners "collected the keys" last spring and claimed to want to keep the house, according to an article in The Stowe Reporter.
Then, it was announced that the house was available to rent for $2,000 - $5,000 per night. Perhaps the new owners, Eric and Katie Makstenieks from Hinsdale, Ill., were hoping to make a dent in the sizable property taxes looming ahead of them? Yet this fall they were extremely generous and allowed a stay at the Dream House to be raffled off for a Stowe High School Ski Team benefit.
